iKMS held its first Practitioner's Conference as a separate track in its first International Conference on Knowledge Management (iCKM2004), held in Singapore in December 2004. While the iCKM Conferences travel the globe, iKMS also organises a popular Singapore Practitioner's Conference, which has been branded as KM Singapore since 2006.  This year, our Guest of Honour and opening speaker is Ms Lim Soo Hoon, Chairman National Library Board and Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Division (PSD). Within PSD Ms Lim has had a particular focus on reinvigorating the PS21 movement aiming at organisational excellence in the Singapore public service. The National Library Board's L2010 strategy aims to build the knowledge capabilities of Singapore, in part by developing and promoting knowledge communities. With a strong emphasis this year on KM Competencies and Professional Development we are honoured to have Ms Lim open our event.
	We are delighted to have as our international keynote speaker Mr Ron Young, Chief Knowledge Officer for Knowledge Management Online and former Chief Executive of Knowledge Associates International. As Chairman of both the British Standards Institute’s Knowledge Management Standards Committee and the European CEN KM Standards Committee, Ron was one of the pioneers in developing standards and guidelines for knowledge management. Ron is also a co-author of the book Knowledge Asset Management (Springer 2003).

	All delegates to KM Singapore 2007 will receive a free copy of iKMS's 2nd Volume of Knowledge Management: Singapore Perspectives. This book, edited by iKMS past President Kan Siew Ning, contains articles, case studies and research reports from KM practitioners based in Singapore.
